Austin Winery is an urban winery located in Austin’s industrial East Side run by a dynamic young team of self-taught and self funded winemakers led by Cooper Anderson and Ross McLauchlan. They started with two stainless steel tanks and half a dozen barrels and now source grapes from all across Texas, working closely with growing partners that share their holistic farming principles whom they trust to grow the very best fruit for their impressive lineup of natural wines. Believing that great wine does not need to accompany great pretence, their wines are made with accessibility and approachability in mind.
Alta Marfa is based in the impossibly cute, artist town of Marfa in Far West Texas, an hour from the Mexican border. Husband and wife team Ricky and Katie are living the dream planting a vineyard at 5400 ft elevation and working with excellent growers around the state to craft their precise style of low intervention wine. Texas isn't the first place you think of for wine, but they've been making wine for over a century, but now thanks to natural producers like Alta Marfa and Austin Winery, the rest of the world is starting to pay attention.
